Boronia Pre-release Centre for Women is a minimum-security facility at Bentley in Perth, focused on preparing low-security women for reintegration into the community. It was built on the site of the former Longmore juvenile facility and opened in 2004.
What this facility is used for
Boronia holds women who have achieved a minimum-security rating, often transferring from Bandyup to serve out their sentence. It has provisions for children to live with their mothers up to about the age of four, and a strong focus on reintegration.
