Amber Laurel Correctional Centre is an intake and transit facility in western Sydney, about 60km west of the Sydney CBD. It receives newly arrested or charged people, as well as those refused bail and facing court. The centre operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week to take offenders and remandees directly from the NSW Police Force and the courts.

Amber Laurel operates in line with 24-hour court cell practices. It manages fresh custody intake, short-term transit, and people awaiting court. The centre has audio-visual link (AVL) facilities connected to court, allowing some court matters to be heard from within the centre, including on weekends and public holidays.
