Bandyup Women’s Prison is the State’s primary prison for women, located at West Swan in Perth’s north-east. It holds sentenced and remand women of all security classifications and is run as a maximum-security facility, though most women are not maximum-security rated.
What this facility is used for
Bandyup receives and holds women across all classifications, including many on remand and women with complex needs. Women who reach a minimum-security rating may move to Boronia Pre-release Centre.
