About this centre
Cooma Correctional Centre is a minimum and medium-security facility located about one hour’s drive south of Canberra and around 410km from Sydney.
The Corrective Services NSW Museum operates at Cooma and is open daily. A living museum employing minimum security inmates as tour guides, sales assistants, collections managers and craft manufacturers.
What this centre is used for
The centre holds male inmates across minimum and medium-security classifications.
Visits and contact
Bookings for video and in-person visits are required. Video visits can be booked through JUST Connect or by email; in-person visits are booked by emailing the centre. Bookings close at midday on Friday for the coming weekend. First-time visitors should email the centre for a Visitor Identification Number (VIN) application form. Before travelling, call to confirm the visit and visiting time.
