About this centre
Hunter Correctional Centre is a maximum-security facility for male offenders on the Cessnock Correctional Complex in the Hunter Valley, about 151km north-west of Sydney and 48km west of Newcastle. The complex also includes Cessnock and Shortland correctional centres.

The centre holds maximum-security male inmates, including those on remand and newly received prisoners.
Visits and contact
Bookings for video and in-person visits are required and can be made by phone. The complex entrance is at the corner of Mavis and Lindsay Streets, Cessnock; navigation apps may direct you to an incorrect access point on Kerlew Street. Before travelling, call to confirm the visit and visiting time.
