Silverwater Correctional Complex is located about 21km west of the Sydney CBD. The complex houses three facilities: Silverwater Women’s Correctional Centre (maximum-security, female), the Metropolitan Remand and Reception Centre (maximum-security, male), and Dawn de Loas Correctional Centre (minimum-security, male).
What this centre is used for
The complex is the main metropolitan reception and remand precinct, holding men and women across separate centres.

Visit arrangements differ between the centres on the complex. Confirm which centre a person is held in before booking, and refer to that centre’s entry for booking details. The nearest bus stop is on Holker Street near Avenue of Africa. Before travelling, call to confirm the visit and visiting time.
