About this centre
Silverwater Women’s Correctional Centre is a maximum-security facility for women and the major reception centre for female offenders in NSW. It is one of three centres on the Silverwater Correctional Complex, alongside the Metropolitan Remand and Reception Centre and Dawn de Loas Correctional Centre.
What this centre is used for
The centre receives and holds female inmates across classifications, including those newly received and on remand.
Visits and contact
A Visitor Identification Number (VIN) is required to contact an inmate in person, by phone, by AVL, or to deposit money. All visitors, including children, must have a booking and must supply photographic identification. The nearest bus stop is on Holker Street near Avenue of Africa; parking is very limited. Before travelling, call to confirm the visit and visiting time.
