About this centre
Wellington Correctional Centre is a mixed-security facility for men and women located about 350km north-west of Sydney. It serves as a reception prison for western NSW and is next to the Macquarie Correctional Centre, which holds maximum-security inmates.
What this centre is used for
The centre receives and holds sentenced and remand inmates, both male and female, from across western NSW.
Visits and contact
In-person and video visits must be booked through JUST Connect, or by calling the centre on booking days (Monday to Wednesday, 8:00am to 3:00pm). In-person visits run Saturday and Sunday in one morning session; the gate closes to visitors at 10:00am. Legal practitioners may arrange visits in person or by video or teleconference. Before travelling, call to confirm the visit and visit time.
